Disaster Relief: The Indianola Rotary club members voted on Friday June 6th, to send $500 to FAMSCO for Disaster Relief in the Northeast Iowa region affected by the tornados on May 25th. Individual members may donate additional funds to FAMSCO at there own choosing. See the letter, from District 6000 President Reed, below, for instructions on additional donations. ___________________________ Dear Rotarians: This is an immediate call to action for District 6000 Rotarians to help fellow Iowa Rotarians and residents of Iowa who have experienced the devastating Tornado in Parkersburg, Iowa. Contact has been made with the District 5970 Leadership and the Rotary Club of Parkersburg as to their immediate needs. Right now the thing that would help the most are cash donations so that the money can be distributed to people and projects that are the most critical at this time. This will be followed by a call for help on various projects at a later time where District 6000 Rotarians can join together with Rotarians of District 5970 to help Parkersburg rebuild. Individual and Club donations can be made to the District 6000 Humanitarian and Educational Fund. These donations will be transferred to a special fund set up in Parkersburg for the specific needs of the Parkersburg residents. The Parkersburg Tornado Relief Fund is being overseen by the local Parkersburg Rotary Club members and the money will be directed by them to the people and projects that most need aid. Individuals who make contributions to the District 6000 Humanitarian and Educational Fund will be eligible to receive tax credit for their donation as this is our 501 3C account.
